"A Raymond TRIBOULET, first sub-prefect of the released France initiative" the permanent exhibition of the landing at Arromanches has been officially inaugurated on 5 June 1954 by Mr René COTY, President of the Republic. It is the first Museum built to commemorate the June 6, 1944 and the Battle of Normandy. This museum was built at the same place where the artificial harbour which can still see the remains to a few hundred metres from the shore was established.
